🐾💜 There’s Something Special About Tomorrow 💛🐾

Tonight, all across Burbank, backpacks are being packed, outfits are being picked out, lunches are being planned and alarms are being set just a little earlier than they have been all summer. 😴⏰

At CES, classrooms are ready to welcome our youngest Coyotes including some who will walk through our doors as students for the very first time.

At CMS, lockers, classrooms, and hallways are waiting for another year of learning, growing, friendships…and maybe figuring out that combination lock.

At CHS, our students are getting ready for another year of classes, activities, athletics, friendships, and memories while our seniors prepare to begin their last first day as Columbia Coyotes. 💜💛

Across CSD, our teachers have prepared their classrooms. Our office staff are ready. Our custodians and grounds staff have our buildings and campus looking great. Our transportation team has the buses ready to roll. Our food service staff are preparing to feed some hungry Coyotes.

Everything is ready, but we are still missing something!

Tomorrow morning, the most important piece returns…

OUR STUDENTS. ❤️

Tomorrow the buses will roll.
The doors will open.
The hallways will fill.
The first bell will ring.

And another chapter begins at Columbia School District.

Whether tomorrow is your very first day as a Coyote, your last first day, or somewhere in between. We hope you come through those doors knowing how excited we are to have you here.

Get some sleep tonight, Coyotes. Tomorrow, we get to do this again.

🐾 ATTENTION COYOTES: We have your dinner plans covered TONIGHT! 🌭🍦 That’s right, it’s the annual CSD Open House!

Come meet your teachers, find your classrooms, catch up with friends, and get those 6th and 9th graders pointed in the right direction at orientation.

And because nothing says “WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!” quite like bribing everyone with food… 😂

Columbia School District is excited to announce that the high school bleacher renovation is complete! We extend our sincere thanks to our parents, coaches, student-athletes, and district staff whose hard work and dedication made it possible to finish this project before the start of the new school year.

We look forward to welcoming our community back to the stands and cheering on our student-athletes this season. Go Coyotes!

The renovation of the Columbia High School gym bleachers is officially underway! 💜💛

Over the next several days, our existing bleachers will be transformed with updated seating, creating a more comfortable and welcoming experience for our students, families, and community for years to come.

This project is a true team effort. Our coaches and student-athletes are rolling up their sleeves, learning new skills, and taking pride in improving a space that means so much to our school and community. Even better, the money that would have been spent on installation will instead go directly back to the CHS athletic teams providing the hard work and sweat equity to complete the project.

Thank you to everyone helping bring this renovation to life. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back this fall to enjoy the updated Columbia High School gym!

📚🐺 Help Us Preserve Columbia School District History! 💜💛

Every yearbook tells a story. The Columbia High School Yearbook tells the story of our community. It's a story of friendships, championships, extra-curricular clubs, trips, concerts, classrooms, teachers, traditions, and generations of Coyotes who have called Columbia School District home.

Here at the District Office, we've started a special project to build a historical collection of Columbia High School yearbooks so that future generations can look back and see where we've come from and celebrate the people who helped shape our schools.

We're looking for any Columbia High School yearbooks that community members may no longer want or need.

If you're cleaning out a closet, downsizing, or simply wondering what to do with your old yearbooks, we'd be honored if you would consider donating them to the Columbia School District. Don't worry if your yearbook is signed from cover to cover or filled with notes from classmates and teachers. Those handwritten memories are part of Columbia's story too. In many ways, they make each yearbook even more special, capturing friendships and moments in time that can't be recreated. Your donation will help preserve the rich history of our students, staff, families, and community for years to come.

Whether your yearbook is from the 1950s, 1970s, 2000s, or anywhere in between, we'd love to add it to our collection. Yearbooks can be dropped off at the Columbia School District Office during regular business hours.

Together, we're working to preserve the memories, traditions, and history that make Columbia School District and the Burbank community such a special place to call home.

Community Assistance Requested

Last night (Sunday evening- 7/5/26) between approximately 10:00–11:00 p.m., Columbia School District property was vandalized with graffiti.

We are asking for our community's help in identifying any of the vehicles shown in the attached images. If you recognize one of these vehicles, or have any information that may assist in the investigation, please contact the Columbia School District Office or the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office.

Our entire community takes great pride in our schools and acts of vandalism take valuable time and resources away from serving our students. We appreciate everyone who helps us keep our schools safe and looking their best.

🚨 Community Notice – Columbia High School Serving as Incident Command Post

Columbia School District would like to inform our community that Columbia High School has been designated again as the Incident Command Post and staging area for emergency personnel responding to the nearby Highway 12 fire.

As a result, community members may notice an increased presence of fire engines, emergency vehicles, and personnel on campus. This activity is in support of the coordinated emergency response and is not related to any emergency at the school itself.

We ask that the public:
🔥 Avoid the high school campus unless you have official business there (such as summer school).
🚒 Give emergency responders plenty of room to work.
🚗 Expect additional traffic in the area while response operations continue.

We are grateful to the firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel, and all agencies working diligently to protect our community.

The District will continue to share updates as appropriate. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as our schools assist in this important community response.

Finally, we want to express our deepest gratitude to Walla Walla County Fire District #5 and every firefighter and emergency responder working on this incident. Your selfless service and dedication to protecting our neighbors and our community do not go unnoticed. Thank you for all that you do!
