We had a great time with our 4-H Marine Science mini-camp last week! Our Florida Sea Grant Extension Agent Carolyn teamed up with our 4-H program to offer two days packed with learning and exploring the coastal ecosystems at some of our Flagler County Parks. Highlights included exploring the rocky intertidal zone at River to Sea Preserve and the estuary at Betty Steflik Preserve, examining plankton under the microscope, and learning about our marine life and how we can help protect them.

QPR Gatekeeper Training – Final Summer Session

Our last QPR Gatekeeper Training of the summer is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4

If you have been thinking about attending, this is a great opportunity to learn how to recognize the warning signs of su***de, engage in a supportive conversation, and connect someone with appropriate resources.

We look forward to seeing you on August 4!

We all play a role in supporting mental health in our communities. The QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Gatekeeper training teaches simple, practical skills to recognize warning signs of a su***de crisis and how to respond.

This training is only about 1.5 hours long and is open to anyone who wants to learn how to help save a life. You do not need prior experience—just a willingness to show up for others. There are multiple training dates/times available.

Together, we can build stronger, more supportive communities.
