🏗️🧪STEM Challenge in 2nd Grade!🧪🏗️

Our second graders put their engineering skills to the test today! Working with a partner, they had 10 minutes to build the tallest free-standing tower using only marshmallows and toothpicks.

There were lots of creative designs, a few wobbly towers, and plenty of problem-solving along the way!

Congratulations to Bailey Webb & Adalyn Cannady for building the tallest tower at 4½ inches!🏆

But the challenge isn’t over! On Monday, our engineers will use what they learned to redesign and try again! 🏗️✨

GAME DAY Information for the Little Bulldogs Football boys:

⏱️Parents please have your little bulldog at the field no later that 5:15. We have a pregame picture to take and several pregame activities scheduled with our football team.

👕They need to wear their Little Bulldogs shirt that they were given at practice yesterday with red or navy shorts.

🏈After the little bulldogs run through the banner with the team, they will remain on the field for the national anthem, prayer, and coin toss.

🪑When the game starts they will sit with parents in the bleachers until half time. At half time they will be called back on the field for their half time activities.

🏈After half time they are free to leave or remain at the game in the bleachers to watch our team play.

Little Bulldog CHEER- game day information from Mrs. Melise:

- GAME DAY (Thursday)- drop your daughter off behind the HOME side bleachers at BHS football field by 5:15 P. M.

👚girls need to wear Little Bulldog T-shirt, black athletic shorts, tennis shoes, and hair pulled back in a ponytail (bow optional but encouraged 🥰)

💦bring labeled water bottle already filled with water

📸group picture will take place at 5:30 sharp

📣girls will cheer with SAS cheerleaders on the track during the 1st & 2nd quarters, then perform on the field for the half time performance. After performance, cheerleaders will bring the girls to meet their parents on the track and Little Bulldogs will end at that point.

8th grade is currently reading “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen - students are working stations with discussions about major themes of the book - social views, marriage, education, gender roles, money/security, social class and reputation. Class playlist this morning included Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” album. Reinforcing the concept that themes don’t change - contemporary music with novels published in 1813!
