Our 7th graders stepped back in time!

Our 7th Grade Heritage Studies students brought history to life during Renaissance Day! From Renaissance-inspired attire and guild booths to friendly team competitions and a royal King’s Banquet, students experienced history in a fun, hands-on way.

We love seeing our students engage with history beyond the textbook and make memories along the way!

We can’t believe it’s already time for First Quarter Awards at Desert Light Christian Academy!

During chapel, our K–4 students will be recognized for demonstrating our school principles: Obey, Honor, and Be Kind. Students in grades 5–8 will be recognized for their academic achievements with Honor Roll and A/B Honor Roll awards. We’ll also celebrate a SHINE Student from every class who exemplifies our school mission.

We’re especially excited that our student worship team will be leading worship for the first time! We’re thankful for the opportunity to celebrate our students’ growth, hard work, and hearts for the Lord.

Parents, we invite you to join us for chapel as we celebrate our students and their accomplishments!

This month we're going to Fill The Shelves!
We’re so excited to officially kick off our school library book drive! From October 5–29, our school community has several ways to help us fill our shelves with great books for our students.
• Donate books: Bring new or gently used books to the box in the front office.
• Shop our Amazon Wishlist: Purchase a book from our curated list and have it sent directly to the school.
• Dine at Panda Express on October 11: 20% of qualifying orders will support our library fund!
• Read With Me: Students will have the opportunity to earn free Panda Express kids’ meals by reading! This will be tied in to the reading logs students already complete each week as a part of their homework packets.

Every book donated or purchased helps us build a library our students can enjoy for years to come. Thank you for helping us cultivate a love of reading in our student.

Worship is more than a song—it’s an opportunity to use the gifts God has given us to point others to Him.
Our students have been practicing during Music Specials, and we loved seeing them lead our school in worship during chapel! What a joy to watch them grow in confidence, serve one another, and use their talents to glorify the Lord.

Science got a little closer to home! Our students learned how to make wet mount slides and examined water samples from our very own Colorado River, observing different types of bacteria under the microscope.

A special thank you to one of our parents for providing the water samples and helping bring this hands-on learning experience to our classroom! We love seeing students explore God’s creation through science.
