Organization of Security Students

Organization of Security Students Scholarly association which enriches the understanding and status of students involved with national and international Security Studies

The Purposes of the OSS:
1. To promote the understanding of current international and national security issues,
2. To promote cooperation between students and faculty to facilitate the thoughtful examination of issues,
3. To inspire students to become professionals and scholars and to see themselves as active participants in contributing to solutions to world problems,
4. To promote understanding

between the many ideologies and disciplines that influence the academic and professional application of our studies. The Principles of the OSS:
1. Respect for each individual and his/her background and opinions,
2. Commitment to the club and the willingness to contribute and participate wholeheartedly in the activities of the club,
3. Adherence to the charter of the club at all times,
4. Adherence to school rules and regulations,
5. Good standing in the school in academics and behavior.

Join DHS at the Federal Tech & Cyber Recruitment and Hiring Event - Spread the Word!

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently announced its participation in the upcoming Federal Tech & Cyber Hiring Event, sponsored by the Federal CIO Council. DHS will join 19 other agencies to recruit and interview applicants. Tentative job offers will be extended to qualified applicants. The federal government is seeking top information technology and cybersecurity talent to fill critical skills gaps. Data architects, computer scientists, cyber analysts, engineers, mathematicians, and project managers are needed to defend the nation’s infrastructure, deliver digital services to the American people, and modernize the federal government’s IT systems and operations.

When: November 6 and 7, 2017
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Where: Silver Spring Civic Building at Veterans Plaza

During the event, a variety of career workshops, panel discussions, and exhibits will take place. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about DHS and other employment opportunities within the federal government. Attendees can speak with hiring managers and recruiters and, if qualified, interview for open positions. Attendees should bring their resume and supporting documents. Note: attendees assume all travel and accommodation expenses.

Candidates of all experience levels are welcome to apply to position openings from Sept. 15-29 on USAJOBS. Qualified candidates may be selected to interview during the event.
