✨ Meet the Teacher: Joana Pratt-Lopez 🎨

The heart behind Art for Life in Buford, Joana Pratt-Lopez has spent her life inspiring creativity across generations and cultures.

Originally from Cali, Colombia, Joana's artistic journey began with creating Mardi Gras-style parade floats, innovative recycled cardboard furniture, and educational puppet theater that brought folktales to life in schools. Since moving to the U.S. in 2001, she has continued sharing her passion through Montessori education, nonprofit youth programs, and bilingual arts education.

Today, Joana leads Art for Life in Buford, where she teaches multimedia art classes, Artsy Parties, papier-mâché, wine glass painting, prop-making, and more. She has also built Gwinnett County's only bilingual (Spanish-English) art studio and created an inclusive space that welcomes children of all abilities, including those with behavioral and learning disabilities.

Her mission is simple: to help every student discover their creativity, build confidence, and experience the joy that art can bring.

Our Collaborative Murals turn birthdays, team-building events, family reunions, bridal showers, girls' nights, and corporate gatherings into a shared creative experience. Each guest paints a section of the canvas, and piece by piece, a beautiful work of art comes together.

Whether your child dreams of designing clothing, learning to sew, or bringing original cosplay characters to life, these classes give them the skills to turn ideas into something they can actually create and wear. From sketching and fabric selection to sewing techniques and costume design, every project encourages imagination, problem-solving, and confidence.

Students work at their own pace in a supportive, hands-on environment where creativity is always in style.
