National Science Foundation BioXFEL Science and Technology Center The National Science Foundation Biology with X-ray Free Electron Lasers (BioXFEL) Science and Technology Center

The Center for Biology with X-ray Lasers, BioXFEL, a consortium of eight research institutions, was created to answer many currently perplexing questions in biology. The answers will come from new methods to see biological molecules in atomic detail, watch their functional motions, and see how they interact. The research builds on existing techniques but takes them to the extreme with an eventual

aim to acquire this knowledge from single molecules. Our center, BioXFEL, aims to nucleate a community of scholars, students, and interested lay persons who will continue to develop, promote, and support this unique resource.
