GRoW Buffalo is an interdisciplinary collegiate team designing an ultra-efficient home for the U.S. GRoW Buffalo is University at Buffalo’s entry into the U.S.
Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon 2015, an international competition held every two years, where 20 collegiate teams are invited from around the world to design, build, operate, and market an ultra-efficient home. The competition challenges teams to develop a sustainable project that performs well in 10 individual contests, ranging from Architecture and Engineering excellence to Market Appeal

The modules are bolted to the foundation and structurally connected for the first time since they were in California! Huge thanks to Lindsay Romano, Wade Georgi, Dan Vrana, and Randy Fernando for getting it to this point so professionally and efficiently.

GRoW This is a book from the student perspective providing a summary and reflection on the 34 month process, written for an audience of future Solar Decathlon teams, both at UB and elsewhere. While faculty advised, it is student written and compiled.

"Every time someone says, You can't do that, this city and our students and faculty members say, Yes, you can." This seems to speak a lot for several projects and achievements in UB, one of which being . Reading this article warmed out hearts and reminded us that our progress would not have been possible without our professors, advisors and UB's School of Architecture and Planning. We can't explain how much faith and patience they had in us throughout thick and thin. We're are extremely thankful for the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom and to realize the change we can create with our own hands. There's simply too much going around, and omg we loveeee that!!
Using Its City as a Teaching Lab, a School Helps Rebuild It, Too Faculty members and students at the University at Buffalo’s School of Architecture and Planning find plenty to do, on scales from citywide to highly personal.
