When I started this business last year I had no idea the doors it would open! I have had two job offers as well as several invitations to be a guest in bookstores and summer camps. So, come fall I will be in not one but two amazing schools. 🎉

I think I’m saying this to say, if you have an idea for something, go after it! Do the thing! Take the risk. Follow the dream. You never know what kind of doors will open for you. And, you never know what amazing people you will meet along the way. 🥰

These pics are from this week’s music class at the ECRC. We are nearing the end of the second summer session. What fun and magic a parachute can bring! ✨ We love to use our imaginations and bring life to our songs and chants! Mr. Duckie also joined us this week to help us review our body parts with the classic chant, “Popcorn!” The toddlers were so enamored, I think one or two of them (seen here) actually thought he was real. 🤭

❔Some of you have asked me, “Will my child enjoy this class even if we don’t watch Bluey?” The answer is yes. The answer is always yes. You will never regret giving your child a musical experience!
(Plus, how often are they given the opportunity to see, hear, and touch real instruments?)

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒Class is best for kids ages 1-5, but Bluey fans of all ages are welcome!

🥁Class will be roughly 50 minutes, including instrument demos and up-close exploration! We will show the saxophone🎷, trumpet🎺, violin🎻, and guitar🎸. It’s never too early to introduce your kids to the wonderful world of music!!

Wow! Thank you to everyone that came to our storytime at The Velvet Bookmark on Saturday!

We read a beautiful singable book called “Five Little Mermaids” from Barefoot Books and we also sang through the RaffiMusic classic book, “Baby Beluga” 🐳 The kids were entranced!

We also used a beautiful blue canopy scarf from Bear Paw Creek | Music and Movement Props to create the ocean! 😍We didn’t get any pictures or videos because we were all so mesmerized by the magic we were creating!! I can’t wait to use this scarf in future classes! 💙

🎵One simple way to make your story time more musical (and keep your child engaged 👀) is to read it to a beat! If you are reading a book that RHYMES, you can read it to a beat like a chant.

🥁You may already be doing this innately as you read, but letting your child keep a beat with you is letting them grow in their musicality.

✋🏻You don’t need a fancy drum—just start with your hands, tapping your legs or something hard nearby. Then try with a pencil or marker and tap the table, or even get some kitchen pots and utensils! (My son LOVED doing this!)

🐷The book I’m reading here was a cute book called “Pigs in Love” and was perfect for Valentine’s Day.
