'The door is wide open': McKinley's career-focused programs impress state labor commissioner New York State Department of Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon's Buffalo visit Tuesday shined a light on vocational programs at McKinley High School, from horticulture to ecology to building trades.

Kudos to Superintendent Dr. Pascal Mubenga for delivering an insightful keynote - Showing Up Matters - at today’s WNY Family Engagement Conference at Classics V Banquet and Conference Center.

His message underscored the power of a collective approach—strengthening connections among schools, families, and communities across Western New York—to ensure that every student shows up to school each day ready to learn and succeed.
