International Student Welcome events have finished and our new cohort of Bulls are getting settled into their UB routines, but we are still thinking about our amazing ISW volunteers.

From greeting new students to giving campus tours and hyping up the crowd on the dance floor, our volunteers were the real stars behind the scenes.

Last week ISS staff joined our UB Office of International Education (OIE) to celebrate Oscar Budde, Director of University at Buffalo’s Immigration Services. After years of dedicated service, Oscar is retiring.

Oscar's work has helped bring talented faculty, researchers, and scholars from around the world to UB, strengthening our university's teaching, research, and global engagement. His expertise and steady leadership have been a credit to our campus community.

We couldn't be happier for him as he begins this well-earned next chapter, though it is difficult to imagine UB without him.

Thank you, Oscar, for your service, guidance and friendship. 💙

New international Bulls were greeted by new UB President Caroline Attardo Genco, VP for International Education Nojin Kwak and VP for Inclusive Excellence Sevai Yildirim at the International Student Welcome ceremony this week. Students had the opportunity to ask questions to their International Student Advisory Council peers, meet the ISS staff, and 2 lucky winners walked away with a UB Bookstore prize.
