I met Jessie around the Fall of last year and have had the privilege to attend her studio and many restorative yoga sessions. From the moment I have met her, she has been the embodiment of empowerment. Witnessing the growth of a woman leader and change-maker from the perspective of a local consumer of her creativity is inspiring. Jessie ends her session echoing Namaste, her soul recognizes your soul. She is raw, authentic, and most deserving of the movement she has intentionally cultivated within her county.

It feels pretty surreal to see our books up on the display shelves of Barnes and Noble. 🥹

As self-published authors, this is a very big deal for us. To have the opportunity to share our book with our community makes this even better. Keeping kids safe is our goal, and read alouds help us do that.

Family of Secrets has made some new friends! Remember our last read aloud with Magic Held Here? Well we decided to donate all profits and DOUBLE it (as twins do), to the Justice For Children Advocacy Center
of Batavia, NY. ✨🏡

JFCAC offers a unique, comprehensive approach to services for children who have been sexually or physically abused, or who have been a witness to violence. The JFCAC serves as a “one-stop shop” for children, families, and professionals by bringing everyone together in a warm, safe, and child-friendly location. It is the agency’s strong belief that children who have been victimized should not be re-victimized by the very system which is in place to protect them.

These are TRUE CHILD SAFETY HEROES.
We are honored to be able to tour their incredible facility. From the moment we walked through the door we felt WELCOMED + SAFE. 🔑

•THE COOP•

We held our recent read-aloud event at our friend’s yoga studio, which happens to be a restored chicken coop. 🐓 Could you believe it?!

Jessie at Magic Held Here has created meaningful and intentional spaces that foster connection and healing. 🤍 It was truly an honor to share her space for our mindful storytime and activities. 🧘🏼‍♀️

Lex enjoys attending restorative yoga at the Coop, similar to our character BRAVE. 👑

Fun Fact: Both Lex + Lys are watercolor artists, kinda like our character CREATE. 🎨

Lex made a watercolor painting of the Coop and gave it to Jessie as a gift of gratitude awhile back. It is now on post cards and displayed in the Coop. How magical. ✨
