We are so proud of our students who participated in the 2026 Diocesan Spelling Bee this past Saturday at Mt. St. Mary Academy!

Thirty-five students in grades 1–8 took the stage, showing not only their spelling skills, but also incredible focus, courage, and composure. Events like this go far beyond words—they build confidence, perseverance, and a love of learning that will serve our students for years to come.

Thank you for having us at your Living Wax Museum, Queen of Heaven School! Superintendent Joleen Dimitroff & Mr. Bob Bennett, one of our Inaugural Board of Directors members, had a wonderful time!

As they walked through the museum, they encountered an inspiring range of individuals who have shaped our world. They met Lucille Ball, who shared her journey of perseverance and innovation in entertainment. Gordie Howe spoke about dedication and excellence on the ice. Rosa Parks reminded them of the quiet courage that can spark profound change. Cleopatra reflected on
leadership and legacy, while Henry Ford highlighted ingenuity and the power of innovation.

What stood out most was not only the depth of knowledge our students demonstrated, but also their confidence, creativity, and pride in their work. Each child spoke with clarity and enthusiasm, truly stepping into the shoes of the person they had studied.

Experiences like this are a beautiful example of the richness of a Catholic education—where academic excellence is paired with opportunities for creativity, public speaking, and personal
growth.

Our students remind all of us that history is not just
something we read about—it is something we can encounter, understand, and be inspired by!

📚✨ Exciting News: Diocese of Buffalo Catholic Schools Embark on Self-Study Phase for Middle States Accreditation! ✨📚

🔍 Exploring the Self-Study Phase:
It's a time of reflection and collaboration where every aspect of our 30 elementary and middle schools—mission, programs, operations, and outcomes—are evaluated to ensure we uphold the highest standards of excellence.

✅ Step One: Gathering Key Documents
Currently, we're collecting essential materials that define each school's individual identity and aligned curriculum, policies, student data, faith formation programs, and more across all schools. These resources help us recognize our strengths and areas for improvement.

🙏 Gratitude to our committed administrators, faculty, and staff for their diligent work. Special thanks to our supportive families and community as we strive for growth in faith and excellence together!

Stay tuned for further updates as we progress on this significant journey. 💙
