Last weekend, the Rocket Club competed in the 2026 Rocket Team Challenge in Syracuse and delivered an outstanding
performance! Student teams were challenged with constructing and launching model rockets, and were evaluated on design,
construction quality, flight performance, and engineering knowledge. After two successful launches, SHA earned 2nd place overall
out of 20 teams!

SHA’s Alumnae Weekend Saturday Happy Hour, the All Class BASH, featured Churros made on-the-spot by Churro Chica! Churro Chica is a small business founded by Bridget Fleming ‘27 through the M&T Leadership and Business Academy, offered exclusively at Sacred Heart.

Bridget developed her product, built a business plan, and competed for funding through a Shark Tank presentation to investors in front of the whole student body. Churro Chica was a huge hit with all of SHA’s guests during Alumnae Weekend!

Introduce your daughter to a new sport this summer!

The benefits of sports for girls are well-known. Sports teach girls commitment, respect for others, how to relax, concentrate under stress, set and achieve goals, accept responsibility and failure and be gracious winners.

Sacred Heart offers several summer sports camps this summer for either the beginning or more experienced athlete: lacrosse, basketball, flag football and volleyball. Each of these camps focuses on the fundamentals of the game and the basics of team sports as well as skill development.

Dedicated coaches and student-athlete volunteers will help create a positive experience for your daughter.

SHA’s Class of 2029 came together to celebrate the end of the school year with the Freshman Finale! Class officers planned games, activities, crafts, and refreshments in honor of completing their first year as part of the SHA Sisterhood.

Sunshine, kickball, and friendly competition… what more could you ask for?

Last Wednesday night, the Robert T. Scott Field at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute was the place to be, as sophomores from SJCI and SHA came together for an evening of kickball, laughter, and school spirit! Under a cotton-candy sky, students enjoyed some friendly competition and made memories that will last long after the final out.

A big thank-you to SJCI for being such wonderful hosts and to the SJCI Parent Guild for the pizza. We can’t wait for the rematch this fall!

Ms. Taylor’s AP US History classes had their annual, and very animated, Living History debates this week. Students chose many interesting US figures to return to life in order to evaluate and debate issues of present-day American society. We heard dramatic commentary from people as diverse as Thomas Paine, P. T. Barnum, Dorothea Dix, Harriet Tubman, Sacajawea, Al Capone, Joseph McCarthy, and Rachel Carson, to name just a few!

Katelyn McPhee, a junior in Mrs. ModicaAmore’s AP Biology class, took on raising Painted Lady butterflies as her final end of year project. She monitored them through their transition from caterpillar to butterfly, and through the week leading up to their release. The caterpillars remained in their containers for approximately a week, getting bigger and eventually forming chrysalises. Finally, at the end of the process, the butterflies emerged from their chrysalises and a butterfly release party was held during SHA Pause, where people observed the butterflies as they left to find their new homes, and a short overview of Painted Ladies was given!
