19 years. 500+ students. 5 classrooms. 4 schools. 2 districts. 2 states. One grateful heart.
From first to fourth grade, from Florida to New York, from teacher to leader, every step has been part of the calling. Thankful for the journey, the students, the colleagues, the lessons, and the growth along the way.

Switched over my calendar this afternoon and quickly realized that this is my last full month in this classroom. My home away from home for nine years. Next month, I will be relocating into an office. An office where I won’t watch a group of students filing in, talking with their friends about life, handing in notes to be sent to the office, or homework assignment being placed into the work bin, or students handing me random drawings and sweet notes. I am determined to make the last five weeks of classes the absolute best and create memories that will sit in the little corner of my heart that is full of the “why I’m a teacher” things. 🥹
Also, I know 31 is missing. It was lost last year and I never replaced. 😂

A few weeks ago, I accepted the interim assistant principal job at my school for the remainder of this school year and official AP position beginning in June. This morning, after our school mass ended, two of my amazing colleagues (and my two sweet girls) called me up, recognized that last week was Assistant Principal’s week, and presented me with a card with well wishes from everyone on the staff and some very sweet gifts. I literally cannot even begin to explain my gratitude for the village I get to be a part of every single day. My school days are so bright because I get to do what I love with the people I love. Here’s to a new chapter! ✨👩🏻💼🫶🏻

You make the whole season shimmer. ✨
Nothing brighter than a classroom full of little lights who bring joy, magic, and sparkle to every single day.

This season, my heart is full. Grateful for the students God has placed in my care, for the families who partner with us, for the everyday grace that fills our classroom, and the colleagues who support me. Thankful beyond measure.
