Happy Juneteenth, from all of us at LSA!
Today, we celebrate Black liberation and Black resilience in the face of oppression. Thank you to all of the abolitionists and activists that fought for Black freedom, and thank you to the activists that continue the fight for what's right.

We have a shed, thanks to these stellar people who donated their time during 's 2026 Day of Caring! These lovely ladies spent THREE HOURS assembling a shed with a less-than-ideal manual and a dream. We cannot express just how excited we are to have outdoor storage!
We have more volunteer opportunities coming up this weekend for those that are interestedโwe will have a general volunteer day Saturday, June 20th from 1:00 to 5:00! Sign up here: https://form.jotform.com/261317490088157

Happy Juneteenth, everyone!! Thank you to everyone who walked with us, helped us make our new parade puppet Art "Midas" the Lion, or who cheered us on! It was an amazing day to celebrate freedom, community, and resilience in Buffalo.

Our lion puppet is really coming along! It won't be nearly as colorful once fully painted, but it'll be even cooler than this when it's fully assembled and painted, we promise!
Interested in walking in the parade with us? You might get to puppeteer the lion! Sign up to walk with us here: https://form.jotform.com/261344187891162

This year, we are participating in Buffalo Infringement Fest by featuring art from local artists in a special new exhibition! Inspired by our history, the history of our building as a home for nuns, and the tradition of punk and indie house shows, "The House Show" highlights themes of independence, going against the grain, and anything punk! We are seeking submissions from local artists that fit the exhibition themesโyour work doesn't necessarily need to reflect punk aesthetics.
This exhibition will run from July 24th - August 2nd with a special performance by RomCom Victims at the exhibition opening, July 24th 5:00 - 8:00. More info announced soon!
Artists are invited to submit up to three artworks. The work will be juried by LSA staff; not every piece submitted will be accepted. Submissions are due July 3rd. Check out the call for art here: https://form.jotform.com/261486005668059
