Our students are so cool!! ✨In collaboration with , we have an exhibit of student artwork touring around Allegheny County through the end of the year. Earlier this summer, some of the featured LSA students took a field trip to Cuba Library to see their work on display!

If you want to check out the exhibit, it will be at Cuba Library through the end of August. It will then be featured at the Office for the Aging until November 1st, when it makes its final stop at Houghton University.

The '26-'27 school year is almost here, and we can't wait! Before classes start, we'd like to take some time to introduce you to our classes and instructors.

Ms. Christina teaches Ceramics on Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30 - 6:30 and Saturdays 1:00 - 5:00. In this class, students learn all of the skills necessary to make their own clay creations! After sculpting, artwork is dried and then fired in our kiln (reaching temps of over 2000 degrees!) after which the work must be glazed and fired a second time. In total, artwork is fired twice before it is ready to go home, which means ceramics usually requires attending at least three times to complete the whole process!

Mr. Mikey teaches Children's Drawing & Painting on Thursdays and Saturdays! This class focuses on the fundamentals of art making while encouraging each young artist to find their individual voice. Mr. Mikey works with each student on a one on one basis to help them learn the basics of color mixing, foreground/background, composition, taking care of tools, and more.

Young artists have varying attention spans, but most are done with class after one or two hours. They are not required to stay for the entire duration of class. Children’s Drawing and Painting currently has designated time slots to help match student’s needs and to allow more students to participate. Classes start at 3:30 and 5:00 on Thursdays and 1:00 and 3:00 on Saturdays.
