Emily Barr, an associate professor, is a pioneering pediatric nurse practitioner and nurse midwife advancing research on perinatal HIV and breastfeeding. Dr. Barr’s is the Vice-Chair of UPLIFT (Understanding Practices of Lactation and Infant Feeding Together), the first study of its kind to explore breastfeeding practices among pregnant and postpartum women with HIV in the United States. Caroline Attardo Genco, provost and senior vice president at Tufts University, has been named ’s 16th president, becoming the first woman and Buffalo native to lead the university. Her appointment was approved by the SUNY Board of Trustees Tuesday following an international search.

Lil' Victor E. Bull was so excited to receive his pin and sign the book pledging ethical practice in nursing at the welcome ceremony for our accelerated bachelor's students on May 21 that we didn't have the heart to tell him his UB pin was crooked. 🤫🤫🤫

Esther Farley, oncology researcher, successfully defended her PhD dissertation titled, "Exploring Healthful and Unhealthful Plant-Predominant Dietary Patterns and their Relationship to Risk of Ovarian and Endometrial Cancer." Congratulations, Dr. Farley!
