🌱 FROM SEEDS TO SUCCESS! 🌻🍅🌽

Before the school year ended, our students rolled up their sleeves and got to work in the Makowski Garden! 💙🐝 They planted a variety of seeds and seedlings and helped care for the garden all the way through the very last day of school.

And look what’s growing now! 🤩🌱

Our garden is currently thriving with:
🥬 Collard Greens
🌽 Corn
🫑 Green Bell Peppers
🥬 Kale
🍅 Tomatoes
🍓 Strawberries
🌿 Sage
💜 Lavender
🌻 Sunflowers
🍉 Watermelon

The best part? Opening Day is only THREE WEEKS away! 🎉

We can’t wait for our students to return and see how much their plants have grown. What started as tiny seeds and seedlings has turned into a beautiful reminder of what can happen with patience, care, teamwork, and a little sunshine! ☀️🌱

We think they’re going to be pretty amazed! 💙🐝

This summer, we are having a blast! Stanley M. Makowski IB World School is proud to provide more than just a meal—we're creating opportunities for learning, creativity, and community! 🌻🌱
Our Free Summer Lunch Program ensures youth 18 and under have access to nutritious meals, while our Summer Activities offer hands-on enrichment that inspires curiosity, teamwork, and environmental stewardship.
Lunch is provided M-F 11:30-12:30
Activities are led T/Th 12-1

Summer lunches will also be available at Makowski for all kids ages 18 and under between July 6th and August 14th. Lunches are available Monday through Friday from 11:30am-12:30pm 🥪💙

Our garden space will have various fun activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30pm-1:30pm! This is open to the community! 🍓🍅🥬

🎉🌈 Get Ready… Set… GO! 🌈🎉

Makowski’s 2nd Annual Color Run was an unforgettable BLAST! 💙🐝

We kicked off the day in an incredible way as our top student fundraisers arrived in style, escorted by the Buffalo Police Department SWAT Team! Students had the exciting opportunity to explore the SWAT vehicle, learn about the specialized equipment, meet our city’s officers, and were greeted with cheers from our entire Makowski school community.

Our celebration continued as three of our outstanding fundraisers stepped into special leadership roles for the day:
⭐ Acting Principal
⭐ Acting Security Officer
⭐ Acting Guidance Counselor

A heartfelt thank you to the staff members who mentored and inspired these students, showing them that with hard work, dedication, and kindness, they truly can reach for the stars! 🌟

Then it was time for the main event… COLOR RUN! 🎨🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Every student had the opportunity to participate, and the smiles, laughter, dancing, and colorful fun made it a day to remember!

A HUGE thank you to our amazing students, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners for making our 2nd Annual Color Run such an incredible success. Your support helps create unforgettable experiences and opportunities for our students.
