Building Successful, Independent Learners đź“š

Middle School brings more classes, more responsibilities, and more opportunities for students to take ownership of their learning.

That’s why our new Middle School Learning Labs provide dedicated time each week for students to stay on top of assignments, organize their workload, ask for help, and focus on what they need to accomplish.

It may look like students simply working on homework, but there’s something bigger happening: they’re learning time management, responsibility, self-advocacy, and the habits that lead to success.

At STFX, academic excellence isn’t just about what students achieve—it’s about giving each child the support and tools they need to grow into confident, capable learners. 💚

We began our Marathon celebration in one of the most meaningful ways we know how—together in prayer.

In honor of October, the Month of the Rosary, our K–4 students gathered for a Living Rosary, with our 8th graders stepping forward to help lead. Each prayer, each bead, and each student became part of something bigger—a visible reminder that faith is not simply something we teach at STFX. It is something we practice together.

And there’s another lesson happening here, too. Our youngest Saints are learning by watching the older students beside them, while our 8th graders are discovering what it means to lead with faith and serve as an example for others.

Growing Into Leaders đź’š

Being part of a House at STFX is about so much more than earning points and competing for the House Cup. It’s about belonging, encouraging one another, living our faith, and learning how to lead.

Congratulations to our 2026–27 St. Luke House Leaders! These students have been chosen to help guide their House throughout the year—bringing students together, building school spirit, and leading by example.

The St. Luke House is rooted in Wisdom, Nobility, and Wit, with an emphasis on kindness and a desire to understand the world around them.

This is one of the things we love about our Middle School years at STFX: our students aren't just preparing to become leaders someday. They're given opportunities to lead right now. đź’š

Growing Curiosity, One Apple at a Time! 🍎

Little hands, big discoveries, and apples as far as the eye can see!

Our preschoolers took their learning beyond the classroom with a field trip to the apple orchard! But this adventure was about more than picking apples. It was an opportunity to explore nature, ask questions, make discoveries, and experience the excitement of learning together.

From reaching for the perfect apple to sharing the adventure with friends, these moments help build curiosity, confidence, independence, and friendships.

At STFX Preschool, we believe God's beautiful world is one big classroom. Every new experience is an opportunity to grow in knowledge, faith, and appreciation for the wonderful world He created. đź’š

An Apple a Day Brings Learning Our Way! 🍎

A little paint, a few apples, and a whole lot of creativity!

What looks like a simple art project is actually an opportunity for our preschoolers to explore textures, recognize shapes, strengthen fine motor skills, and discover the joy of creating something all their own.

As they experiment with different materials and techniques, they're learning to make choices, solve problems, and express themselves in new ways. And when things don't turn out exactly as planned? That's part of the learning, too!

At STFX Preschool, we celebrate the process just as much as the finished product, because every little masterpiece tells a story of a child growing in confidence, creativity, and independence. đź’š

Big Buddies, Little Buddies, Lasting Friendships! đź’š

What's your favorite food? Favorite color? Can you draw a picture of me?

Our 3rd and 1st grade buddies spent time getting to know each other through fun questions, creative drawings, and shared reading. But the real learning went far beyond the worksheets!

Our older Saints practiced leadership, patience, and kindness, while our younger Saints built confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging.

At STFX, we're not just building strong students. We're growing a school family where faith, friendship, and caring for one another are part of everyday learning. đź’š

The Best Part of Preschool? Growing Together!

A trip down the slide might only last a few seconds, but the lessons learned on the playground last much longer!

From waiting their turn to cheering on a friend, our preschoolers are learning how to navigate friendships, build confidence, and discover what it means to be part of a community.

At STFX, we believe preschool is about more than preparing children for kindergarten. It's about helping them grow into kind, confident little people who know they belong. đź’š

The ties are on, the smiles are ready, and these two understood the Picture Day assignment! đź’™

But this photo captures something even sweeter than dressed-up students—it captures friendship and belonging. These are the little relationships being built in the hallways, classrooms, playground, and everyday moments at STFX.

Someday they may look back at their school pictures and wonder how they were ever this little. We’ll remember the friendships that were growing right alongside them. 💚
