Leonardo da Vinci High School Leonardo da Vinci is an award winning Buffalo Public High School. As a result, many of our students graduate with 6-12 college credits.

Leonardo da Vinci is a four year co-educational public high school situated on the campus of D'Youville College in Buffalo, New York.Our unique partnership with D'Youville College allows our students to enroll in college courses beginning in their sophomore year.

Our first two days of school were amazing! Here are some updates. All students have a full schedule and a locker. All SENIORS have received their laptops. Juniors and sophomores will receive them this coming week. We are still waiting on new devices for freshman to arrive. NFTA buses are free for the month of September but students will receive their bus passes from security next week. We are having grade level assemblies on Tuesday to review our schoolwide expectations and procedures. On Tuesday, students will be bringing home a copy of our Student Parent Handbook and Code of Conduct for you to keep at home. Students will also be bringing home a Student Information Sheet and Media Release Form for you to complete and return to school with your child. As always, if you have questions, please reach out.

This is a paid opportunity for high school students. The “Teen Activist Project” (TAP) is a dynamic youth leadership program dedicated to state level advocacy and legal education.

This is great for students interested in law, human rights, environmental studies, health services, or political science!

About TAP Buffalo:
Meetings: Every Wednesday, 4:15-6:00 PM (in-person)

Focus: Explore critical civil liberties issues, including education equity, healthcare for minors, environmental racism, immigrants’ rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and freedom of speech.

Opportunities: Gain hands-on training in peer education and community organizing, develop advocacy campaigns, and collaborate with professionals on issues impacting young people
Benefits: Earn up to a $600 stipend or community service hours

Eligibility:
Age: 14 to 21 years old
Location: Enrolled in a local high school or GED program.

Commitment: Full school year participation required for stipend eligibility

Greetings, this is Ms. Potempa. We are so excited to welcome our students on the first day of school.

Reminder: Doors open at 7:40 AM, and homeroom begins promptly at 8:20 AM. We do expect there may be some lines as students hand in their cell phones and other internet enabled devices at arrival, so please plan accordingly. Please remember that ALL students must turn in their devices and follow our cell phone policy. If a student is caught with a device during the school day, a parent or guardian will need to pick it up.

Metro buses are free for the month of September. The NFTA specials that are out front at dismissal include the Route 16 Botanical Gardens, Route 12 Niagara, and Route 12 Main/Bailey. These special buses are exclusive to da Vinci students - no other passengers are allowed to ride them. In the morning, there is also an NFTA special bus departing from North Ogden and Lovejoy at 6:29 a.m., labeled “111-Davinci HS and Performing Arts.” Though early, it is a helpful option for students living in South Buffalo.

Our teachers worked hard today preparing for an amazing year, and we cannot wait to welcome your children tomorrow. Let’s make it a great year, DAVINCI FAMILY!

Greetings Families,

This is Principal Potempa welcoming you and your child to DAVINCI high school! We are so excited to see your child on Thursday, September 3rd. Our doors open at 7:40 AM and homeroom begins at 8:20 AM. Students must be on-time. We are having several attendance incentives this year for students who have good attendance, including field trips and special events on Fridays. All student schedules are complete and in Infinite Campus. We will also post all homeroom numbers in the cafeteria and students will receive a copy of their schedule in homeroom. I am always a call or email away if you need anything. LET’S GO DRAGONS!
