Shifting Gears Unlimited Interpersonal Communications Program for Youth is a program that will assist youth between the ages of 8 – 18 build self-esteem through values, activities, personal talents and self-awareness. This program is designed to empower and education each youth on how they can overcome any obstacle necessary in order to achieve a positive attitude toward self, school, family, friends and community. Each module will consist of “How can I achieve my personal goal” in all areas to help them change their direction of life. Each module will have activities focused on the topic and each participant will receive a journal to document their progress, ideas, thoughts and goals throughout the program. This ten-week program will assist each participant maintain high levels self-esteem and take pride in themselves, become better individuals because they will have the tools necessary to better themselves and start believing and implementing their dream and goals. This program will also include guest speakers who are experts in their that fit each module. After the ten-week program, each participant will receive a certificate of completion and monitored to confirm that they are on track based on their educational and personal goals for twelve month!

I want to express my gratitude to Dr. Marcus Watson, Professor of Africana Studies at Buffalo State University, for inviting me to speak with his students last Friday. It was a rewarding experience sharing life skills with them and gaining valuable insights from their perspectives as they embark on their college journeys.

Congratulations to the students in Africana Studies! I encourage you to keep striving for success in all aspects of your lives – academically, professionally, and socially. Your openness and willingness to guide the next generation are truly inspiring.

Good Morning Everyone! Because of so many changes happening in the housing community, I wanted to let you know as a renter and landlord - if you are renting, please note that effective June 2019, New York State passed a law that rent cannot increase your rent no more than 5%. You both have rights and it's important know them to protect yourselves!
