The Class of ‘30 marks the 10th CHS class to make the annual adventure to Camp Pathfinder in Algonquin! Brisk temps in the mid thirties last night could not stop these Centaurs. Thank you to the Algonquin Campership Fund, BPS Community Schools and the CHS Foundation for making this life changing experience possible for our 8th graders! (CHS Families- we’ll be sharing a full photo album of the trip with you through the Hilltop Notes next week)

We are saddened to share the news of the death of Mr. Victor Shanchuk, Jr. Mr. Shanchuk taught at City Honors from 1977 to 1997 and taught in the Buffalo Public Schools for 36 years.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 3-7 PM on Thursday, May 21st, at the (Delaware Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME INC. 1132 Delaware Ave. (at West Ferry), Buffalo. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 22nd, at St. George Orthodox Church, 2 Nottingham Terrace, Buffalo. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Trisagion Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Victor's memory to Burchfield Penney Art Center, 1300 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo, NY 14222.

Wednesday was senior night for varsity Unified basketball team. Congrats to Jordan and Willow on a spectacular career for CHS hoops! We could not be more proud of these fine student athletes. The team celebrated senior night with a spirited win against South Park team that demonstrated excellent effort and sportsmanship. CHS next faces cross town rival, Olmsted Owls, Friday afternoon. Sectionals will be here soon!
