What a day of community building! Students, faculty/staff, parents, members of the Family Empowerment Council, the Broadway/fillmore Block Club and SRO’s jumped right in to partake in a school wide Community Service Day in celebration of Earth Day!

Students reflected on and embodied our values of Courage, Community, Compassion and Contemplation while doing various projects together. Projects included cleaning up of 109 Paderewski lot, spring cleaning around the school and church campus, making succulent pots for the Sisters of Mercy, planting flower pots and cleaning up the inside of the school campus!

Not to mention our X-STREAM learning Showcase exhibit was a hit. We had two tables full of STREAM-related projects- AI projects, web design, science of prayer project and African American inventions project.

Today, our friends from and entertained our students with an intimate performance of classical pieces. Students learned, heard, and felt how composers use music to convey emotion - while also getting to experience a truly special performance by some of our great local artists.

Yesterday, our 8th grade St. Augustine Rens traveled to St. Francis to compete against the St. Benedict Tigers in the WNYCESAA Boys Basketball Championship. In a back-and-forth classic, our Rens won 49-43! Additionally, 3 scholar-athletes made the all-tournament team, with CP taking home tournament MVP honors.

Congrats to our champion Rens and their undefeated season!

Our March Spirit Week celebrated Black and Women’s History Month with tons of activities! From Mass centered around dreaming and equality, dress dow days, locker decorating contests, fun activities in First Hand Science to a visit from some of our St. Monica Scholars Alumnae - it was a dynamic and amazing week!

The annual Junior Board Nativity-Meatguel Raffle was a huge success! Thank you to our sponosors for the impactful support! A sell out crowd filled th Kennedy Field House and made this event one for the record books!

Our alums are dynamite and we were thrilled to have some of them return today to share their insights during our Middle States Accreditation Candidacy visit! Not to mention a little visit to our St. Monica’s Scholars division by some of our amazing Lady Rens!
