Our Story

With state-of-the-art technology and facilities, Campus House provides an innovative,
hands-on teaching and research laboratory for students in the Buffalo State Hospitality and Tourism Department.
Students earn academic credit as they create original menus, manage and market the club, and conduct hospitality and tourism-related research.

Our students first experience the back of the house (BOH) for 15 weeks in our HTR 300 FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGEMENT class and seminar. Students work at Campus House, the hospitality training facility. Students are required to apply various food production, purchasing, and sanitation principles while participating in labs. Emphasis on preparing high-quality products and providing high-quality service.

Then the following semester they move the to the front of the house (FOH) HTR 480 PRACTICUM IN HOSPITALITY OPERATIONS. Culminating experience in hospitality administration at Campus House requiring students to apply various theories and concepts learned in previous courses. Students develop marketing, strategic, and financial plans.
