Feel Good Friday Post!
On Friday, May 1st, out Middle School students visited Buffalo State University to participate in the annual Youth Voices Conference-an incredible opportunity for students across Western New York to showcase their work on a college campus.
The day began with an inspiring keynote from Angie Thomas, author of The Hate U Give, setting the tone for a powerful celebration of student voice and creativity.
Our 8th grade students proudly presented original poems developed in their ELA classes with teachers Alyssa Germano and Kristen Lane.
Their work drew inspiration from renowned poets like Maya Angelou, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Quincy Troupe, and Clint Smith, while incorporating techniques such as rhyme, rhythm, symbolism, and vivid imagery.
We are so proud of our Middle School students for representing CSAT with such thoughtful, detailed, and expressive work. Their voices truly made an impact! ππ
