BHM Schools wants to ensure that we are communicating with parents in the most effective way possible. On Thursday, October 8, 2020, mid-morning, the district will send out a district-wide emergency test message to parents and guardians from our parent notification system.

You should receive a call, email and text messages (whatever information you have on file with your child's school). Especially with the upcoming winter months, we want to be sure parents/guardians don't miss any important messages from the school or the district about cancellations or delays.

Remember this is ONLY a TEST and NO action will likely be necessary.

REMEMBER: BHM Nutrition Services will continue to offer FREE meals throughout the summer. Children ages 18 and under and individuals 19 and over with state-defined mental or physical disabilities who participate in school programs will receive a bag lunch for that day and a breakfast for the following day. This program will be solely for the pick-up of meals and should be consumed off-site.

Meals will be offered for curbside pick-up only and are available Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. at the front doors of the locations listed below (unless otherwise noted). No need to sign up or register ahead of time, and ALL kids can participate. NEW for summer--Monday, Wednesday and Friday will be ready-to-eat (picnic like) meals and Tuesday and Thursday will be take-home, heat and eat meals.

Montrose Elementary School of Innovation

If you need to use the US Mail to get an EARLY VOTING BALLOT (can't make it into the district office, don't have a computer with a printer and don't have a smart phone), time is running out for that process! You might still have time if you act TODAY. Here are the steps to consider:

1. Request an Early Voting Ballot Application.
2. We mail you the application.
3. You receive the application, fill it out, get it back in the mail ASAP.
4. We receive it and mail you your ballot.
5. You receive your ballot, fill it out and get it back in the mail ASAP.
6. Your sealed ballot arrives at the district office before 3pm on Tuesday, November 5 to be counted.

(Consider it might take 1-2 days to get through the mail each time.)

So keep that process in mind. Of course you can speed this process up by printing the application off online, take a picture of the completed application with your phone and email it to the address on the back of the application for us to mail you a ballot. You will still have to mail it back, so keep that in mind.

The fastest way to vote early is still in-person. Simply come to the BHM District Office in Discovery Center at 214 1st Ave NE, Buffalo (enter the doors off 3rd Ave--Community Education--before 3pm or the doors off the parking lot after 3pm). Voting is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. through Monday, November 4.

Or simply vote on Election Day--Tuesday, November 5. Polls open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Remember, polling locations are consolidated: Buffalo High School, Hanover City Hall and Montrose Community Center.
