Happy First Day of School Eve, Bison!

We are so excited to welcome our students back to school tomorrow, August 25th! Here are a few important reminders for a smooth start to the new school year:

Building opens: 7:30 AM
Classes begin: 7:50 AM
School dismisses: 3:30 PM

Those students planning to bring tissues and sanitizer wipes tomorrow may drop them off at the office or leave them with their 1st hour teacher. Teachers will also go over any additional supplies needed for their classes tomorrow.

Please remember to use extra caution in school zones and obey all traffic laws. Our SRO team will be out tomorrow helping ensure our school zones remain safe for everyone.

We can't wait to see all of our Bison back in the building! See you tomorrow! It's going to be a great year. Go Bison!

BHS families, we still have around 90 incomplete student registrations!

Registration is required each year to ensure we have the most up-to-date information for your student. Please take a few minutes to log in and make sure your student’s registration information is fully completed before the first day of school, Tuesday, August 25th.

We are so excited to see everyone at open house tonight! Open House is a great time to meet your teachers, find your locker, and get those last minute tasks like taken care of before the first day of school. Help us welcome the newest member of the Bison Family, Coach Rhodes! Welcome to the team, Coach Rhodes!

I have been teaching and coaching for 33 years. This will be my 27th year in public education. I have been married to my wife, Wendy for 35 years and we have two wonderful children. Our oldest is our son Alex, who is living in Colorado. Our youngest is our daughter Lauren, who is living with her husband Christian in Branson.

Teaching and athletics have been a calling for our family. My wife taught in elementary (mostly Kindergarten) for 29 years in the public school system and is now in her 4th year of teaching 2nd grade at Polk County Christian School in Bolivar. My daughter is beginning her 4th year as an elementary Art teacher in the Branson school district. While my children were growing up, our lives revolved around God, family/friends, school, and sports. I had the pleasure of teaching and coaching my children and also worked with some remarkable people.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and my Master’s degree in Education from Southwest Baptist University. I began my career teaching Physical Education at the Ranch School in the Pleasant Hope school district. After that, I taught a variety of subjects in Special Education, History, Physical Education/ Strength Training, and also spent 2 years as an Athletic Director. I have also had opportunities throughout my career to work in the Bolivar, Stockton, Clinton, and Humansville school districts. God has blessed me with a variety of opportunities for success, and I have tried to make the most of each one.

I have acquired a lot of experience in a multitude of areas. I am looking forward to teaching World History again and coaching football at Buffalo High School, getting to know the students and players, and working with the staff at Dallas County R-1. Thank you for the opportunity!
