The last weekend of August was a thrilling experience for the students of the Polish Saturday School and their parents, who, thanks to the kindness of the "Podhale Youth and Parents" organization, spent a wonderful time surrounded by nature.
We would like to thank the Board, especially Renata Bartosiewicz, Darek Prokop, and Robert Zieliński, for their help and support.

Ostatni weekend sierpnia był pełen wrażeń dla uczniów Polskiej Szkoły Sobotniej i ich rodziców, którzy dzięki uprzejmości Organizacji "Podhale Youth and Parents", mogli spędzić wspaniały czas na łonie natury.

Dziękujemy bardzo Zarządowi, a szczególnie Renacie Bartosiewicz Darkowi Prokopowi i Robertowi Zielińskiemu za pomoc i wsparcie.

“Szkoły dzwonek zaprasza wszystkie dzieci i dorosłych w progi Polskiej Szkoły Sobotniej” This Polish statement is a sample of the Polish language that is taught in the Polish Saturday school for adults. “The school bell invites all children and adults to the Polish Saturday School”!

We offer Polish language lessons in classrooms with excellent teachers. Classes for children begin with Preschool and continue to 8th grade with the possibility of taking the New York State Regents exam. The adult classes are in three levels beginners, intermediate and advance classes. Just think how proud our ancestor will be knowing that all of us are keeping the Polish language, history and traditions alive!

Before we ended our classes for the year, I asked some children and adults why they come every Saturday to Polish School. Here are some responses the children and adults gave me:

I love coming to Polish Saturday not only because we learn the Polish language, but I have many friends who learn with me and my teacher is so nice!

We not only learn the language, but we learn songs in Polish as our music teacher Pani Mary Lou Wyrobek teaches us!

I have made friends forever and I will always remember Polish Saturday School memories forever!

I like the way we celebrate the Polish traditions-Jaselka, Świeconka, Mother and Father Day, Grandparents Day.

I don’t know why I waited so long to come! I have learned so much and have made some wonderful friends who are also excited about learning the Polish language, the history and traditions!

Just do it, you won’t regret it!

I look forward to coming every Saturday and learning the Polish language and traditions I forgot! Polish Saturday School reminds me of my family when I was younger who always talked Polish and now are all gone! It feels like I am home again!

I have said I was going to learn Polish for so many years and finally took the plunge and am doing surprisingly well as I have a very good teacher. The guest speaker that come and share their stories and information I have found very interesting. The traditions I have forgotten and not done in years are so very special to me which I want to pass along to my children and grandchildren!

Come and join us on September 12, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. as we have a seat waiting for all Polonia’s children and adults!
