⚠️ Important Update on Erie County Child Care Assistance ⚠️

Why is this happening?

Funding hasn’t increased for 2025–2026 ($65.9M), while costs have risen 25% due to lower parent shares, more eligible families, and higher absence claims.

What this means:
• Current Temporary Assistance families will continue to be authorized
• New applications from working families will be denied
• Homeless, very low income, or special needs children remain priorities for active cases.

We know this will be very difficult for many families and providers.
