Congratulations to and assistant professor Kaiyi Ji on his National Science Foundation CAREER AWARD ๐
๐
Ji's work will focus on advancing the theoretical and algorithmic foundations of multi-objective optimization (MOO). There are several real-world AI and big data examples of systems that use MOO, like 5G networks, autonomous systems, healthcare, finance and several more. The findings of this project have the potential the push MOO research and performance forward, enhancing the efficiency and impact of each of these systems.

๐๐CSE Professor Atri Rudra has received the ACM PODS Alberto O. Mendelzon Test-of-Time Award 2025 for his collaborative work on "Joins via Geometric Resolutions: Worst-case and Beyond."
This research introduced a novel worst-case optimal relational join algorithm, unifying previous approaches through a geometric framework linked to logical resolution. It has shaped modern database systems, influencing indexing schemes, query optimization, functional aggregate queries, and applications in tensor computations and high-dimensional data analysis.
๐๏ธCongratulations Atri!!
