Learn. Lead. Grow. 🌱

Looking for an opportunity to learn by doing, develop as a leader, and make a meaningful impact in your community?

We're looking for people who are ready to roll up their sleeves, grow as leaders, and help strengthen Wyoming's local food system through AmeriCorps service.

Whether you're a high school student, college student, recent graduate, taking a gap year, or simply looking for a meaningful opportunity to serve your community, AmeriCorps with Rooted in Wyoming is a chance to build leadership skills, discover new strengths, and make a lasting impact.

As an AmeriCorps member, you'll have the opportunity to:
-Grow food and support community gardens and greenhouses
-Inspire the next generation through hands-on garden, nutrition, and agriculture education
-Support local schools, community partners, and food access initiatives
-Build leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
-Earn an AmeriCorps Education Award upon successful completion of your service

This isn't just about the work you'll do. It's about the confidence you'll build, the relationships you'll make, and the impact you'll leave behind.

If you're ready to learn, lead, and grow, we'd love to have you on our team.

Wyoming is frequently the state with the highest per-capita su***de rate in the nation; ranchers and other agricultural families are among the most at-risk groups. Su***de can be prevented, and there is hope. One of the most effective ways to help prevent su***de is for friends, family, and neighbors to recognize warning signs, and feel comfortable helping someone find the support they need.

PRBRC is sponsoring a two-day su***de prevention training (ASIST) for ranchers, and for those who work closely with them. The lead trainer for this workshop is from a ranching family. We recognize that there are particular pressures navigated by ranch families, which aren’t shared by the general public, and this will be an opportunity to learn together with people who understand those challenges. At the end of the training, participants will be able to recognize when their neighbor is struggling, and help them find help.

Mulching around trees, landscape plants, and gardens can lead to significant amounts of water savings by reducing evaporation! Using mulch can also contribute to w**d control and pleasing aesthetics!
