Great job to the Horticulture team at McKinley High School!

Congratulations to our four 2026 graduates from Alfred State College through our P-TECH BEGREEN Building Trades program! These 2024 grads from McKinley High School continued on to earn their associates degrees at Alfred State Building Trades at no cost to them! 27 McKinley students have now completed this program to date, with hundreds more earning dual college credit through Alfred State College while still in high school.

148 Career and Technical Education students from 13 Buffalo Public Schools high schools were inducted to the National Technical Honor Society today!

To earn this honor, students must have over 90% in their CTE program, 85% GPA, and 85% attendance. Many congratulations to all these dedicated CTE students!

Many thanks to Comissioner Reardon and the entire team from the NYS Department of Labor for touring some of our successful CTE programming at McKinley High School, in recognition of National Apprenticeship Week! We hope you all enjoyed taking the time to speak with some of our dedicated and hardworking students!

'The door is wide open': McKinley's career-focused programs impress state labor commissioner New York State Department of Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon's Buffalo visit Tuesday shined a light on vocational programs at McKinley High School, from horticulture to ecology to building trades.

Congratulations to Mrs. Foreman-Robinson the teacher of the who was recognized last month at the Women Making History “Women Who Walk in the Footsteps of Greatness” Gala. The award was presented to honor the work she’s done in the community and as a teacher. Conservation programs from Riverside Academy HS #208 and McKinley High School had valuable learning experiences at The Buffalo Zoo last week! Students learned about endangered wildlife and the valuable role that zoos have in animal species conservation. They were also able to spend time exploring the zoo and visiting all the animal exhibits. Thank you for having us!
