Leadership Service in Action students had a leadership "party" with their Intro to Leadership lesson. Students wrote down 4 skills they felt they possess then put them in a balloon. Students took turns popping the balloons and tried to guess whose was whose. A fun way to share the leadership skills they believe they bring to the group.

FCCLA is starting an FCCLA Family & Friends group. We are not going to charge a fee to join. You become a member by providing support or volunteering to assist in our chapter projects. For example, the coffee shop that is run by FCCLA needed a coffee pod holder- we had someone donate one, which made this person a member. We will post here what we need, and would like the community to let us know what we can do for you.

Monday Mrs. caylor attended the K-ACTE Career Summit. She was recognized and received a certificate at the opening session as an affiliate winner for Teacher of the Year. During the KATFACS luncheon she was awarded the Teacher of Year award. Thanks Kandace Dunn Metcalf for taking the photos.

We made it back at the school around 11:30 pm. Only about 2 hours later then expected. Flying from Washington D.C. to Orlando our flight was diverted to Jacks due to weather. We stayed on the plane on the tarmac until we had the clear to fly into Orlando. We got off the plane for our flight to KC to discover that it was the same plane we just got off of, had about 10 minutes and reboarded to KC. This trip was amazing, but everyone was happy to be home and be back with our families.

Last day in Washington D.C.- Toured the US Capital and ate lunch at the Capital Cafeteria. Visited the Library of Congress. Walked through the Botanical Gardens on our way to the Air & Space Museum. Celebrated our success with supper at the Cheesecake Factory. Mrs. Caylor finally figured out the Metro system on the last day. We are ready to head home.

Peyton - 8th Place
Mikayla- 10th Place

Ate lunch at Gordon Ramsay's Pizza Street.
Attended State recognition meeting and closing session.
Closing session speaker did a chalk drawing on a Wal-Mart bed sheet for encouraging you to step outside your comfort zone. The closing session ended with a Mariachi Band.
Ended the conference by attending the National FCCLA After Party.

Today- Boat Cruise on the Potomac River. Adviser awards and Fashion show.
