As a woman in the Middle East, being ogled by men is a daily occurrence, even if you're covered head to toe in a long, loose dress.
This is because men in Middle Eastern countries aren't socialized to view women as fellow human beings. They are socialized to view them as servants, or s*x toys, both signifying women are a level below them.
Muslim men rationalize that since women have to:
- hide and cover their entire body, and sometimes their face
- only marry one man
- have to be ok with your husband marrying more women on top of you
- bear that your husband will have hundreds of women available to him in heaven while you are allowed to only have one man(your husband)
- cannot marry outside of Islam
- cannot own slaves
- be ok with being a s*x slave
- withstand physical abuse from their husbands
- fast with their husband's permission in case he wants to have s*x with her
- travel with a man if they want to go anywhere
- cannot run for president/rule any land
- receive half the inheritance of their brothers
- accept their testimony in court is equal to half of a mans
And men have the right to do the above and MORE.
Naturally, these men rationalize that they are better than women. If women were as powerful and worthy as men, they would have the same freedoms and rights. But they don't.
And we see this in the picture below. Men do not respect or view women as equal human beings, they see women as objects that either have s*x with them or serve them, hence why they ogle without shame. In the West, men have adapted to respect women seeing how we are near equal in our rights and opportunity with each other, so they do not ogle women anywhere near the extent in the Middle East.
