Working on crafting some Christmas gifts today!

One of my 5th graders was wondering if adults cry and why. So I listed some reasons why. Another 5th grader wanted some clarification if I've cried since working with their class. 😬

I spent my Saturday night in working on a puzzle I got today.

It is so nice just taking a break and not thinking about or working on anything school related.

I'm excited to have this week off to sleep in and practice self care. It's time to focus on me again

Hubby and I threw on jammies, ordered takeout, and rented a red box movie tonight while there is a storm brewing outside. ❄

This week my district started back face-to-face instruction and boy and I exhausted 😴

It's definitely an adjustment being back in the building and teaching in-person and remote learners simultaneously, the district wifi didn't work for several hours on our first day back, but things went fairly smoothly by the end of the week

Our board of ed voted earlier this week to start our phased in return to in-person instruction.

Some key points
⭐ my district has been utilizing remote instruction since March 2020
⭐ phase 1 focuses on our most neediest students - prek - 2nd, special classes, and seniors
⭐ special classes get to go back for 5 days of in person instruction
⭐ all other students will be hybrid
⭐ every 2 weeks the phase-in will be evaluated so district can decide if/when to phase in more students
⭐ all families have the option to opt out of in-person instruction and remain remote

I've got some mixed emotions - I'm definitely excited to go back to in person instruction and be with my students. I'm definitely anxious since there are no guarantees, but I know I'll be following all of the safety precautions in my classroom to make this work.

Marisol is enjoying

I went to the school building two days this week, so Marisol was a little stressed without me
