Buffalo String Works has become a place of belonging for many students in the community. To strengthen that, our new Student Support Specialist, Miriam Brown, will bring all students at the Niagara St. program additional mental health support and non-musical enrichment activities such as homework help, peer connection, and artistic expression through other mediums.
A gift this spring will support studentsโ overall wellbeing and continue to provide a safe space for new and existing BSW students. Donate now at https://secure.lglforms.com/form.../s/pjqutnhL4xye6_aV47O4fw

Weโre excited to welcome Miriam Brown to Buffalo String Works as our new Student Support Specialist!
Miriam previously served as Programming Coordinator in the Student Leadership and Engagement office at Buffalo State, working to bring a wide range of inclusive and intentional programming to the student body. She also worked as a graduate social work student in the Student Care and Support office, helping to connect students with basic needs resources, providing non-clinical emotional support, and designing faculty-staff crisis management resources.
Hear from Miriam:
โI'm super excited to join the team at Buffalo String Works! Music has had a special place in my heart my entire life, and I have experienced how transformative it can be. I am very excited to get involved and give back to Buffalo through this work.โ

Last week, our students from NativityMiguel Buffalo performed at their annual Scholar Awards Banquet! The event brings together the NativityMiguel community in celebration and support of the schoolโs students, helping raise funds for tuition and programming through raffles, paddle raises, and other fundraising efforts throughout the evening.
Our students were honored to perform near the start of the program and help kick off such a meaningful night. Thank you to NativityMiguel for their continued partnership and support!

Spring is a time of renewal, which is exactly what we have been focused on here at Buffalo String Works. To deepen the impact for the students and wider Buffalo, weโre very excited to bring to life the Community Ensemble. This ensemble will work with teaching artists to build musical experiences for other vulnerable communities within the city. These groups may include unhoused individuals, elderly, veterans, or youth in foster care. They will bring music directly to those who need it most.
