Tout savoir sur le bac! Level A2+

🇫🇷 Did you know French students used to get sorted into bac "series" with names like A1, B, C, and D?

The baccalauréat has changed a lot in recent years. Today there's no more L, ES, or S series. Students choose "spécialités" instead, sit a Grand Oral in front of a jury, and need a 10/20 average to pass. There's even a second chance exam (rattrapage) for anyone who lands between 8 and 10.

And here's the detail that surprises most Americans: there's no cap-and-gown ceremony in France. Students just get their results online in July and say, simply, "J'ai eu mon bac !"

I broke down the whole system, old and new, in my latest post, including how it compares to the American high school diploma.

It means to catch someone's eye, to make a strong, immediate impression on someon...
