Some of you may be disappointed in these photos, after all that I have been saying about this special mushroom project. To be honest, the mushroom isn't the important part. Playing with, shaping, and blending light was the whole purpose of the exercise, but on a little-bitty scale. It is EASY to light big subjects. But with small ones, you really have to be careful and exact where and how you place the light. While these photos aren't really "WOW!" images, they do represent some precise lighting techniques, from knowing the color palate, blending ratios, light modifiers (flags, scrims, and grids), and simply being willing to lay down in wet grass for an hour moving the gear by meer millimeters. I had fun with it!
