The Lady Red are bringing volleyball to the school day as they take on Mapleton! We’re calling on Bucyrus to fill the stands and bring plenty of Redmen spirit to the gym!

A few seating reminders: Students and the band will sit on the home side, while all Lady Redmen fans will sit behind the Bucyrus bench.

🏈❤️🖤 LET’S GO, REDMEN!

Bucyrus Elementary School students are invited to join us for our annual Spirit Tunnel before Friday night’s game against Mohawk! Students should meet by the NW gate before kickoff to help cheer the Redmen onto the field. 📣

And there’s even more to look forward to! Students get free admission with an accompanying adult, a concession stand food voucher and free pom poms while supplies last. Please note that adult tickets must be purchased.

🏐🔥 SERVE FOR A CAUSE! ❤️🖤

The Lady Red are ready to hit the court for Volley for the Cure on Tuesday, Sept. 24, when Bucyrus takes on Wynford High School! First serve is at 5:30 p.m.

Come cheer on the Lady Red and help make the night special! The evening will feature a raffle, silent auction and bake sale, giving Redmen fans plenty of ways to support the cause while cheering on our volleyball team.

❤️ Bucyrus Sixth Graders Need You! 🖤

What if one hour a week could make a lasting difference in a young person’s life?

Bucyrus City Schools is partnering with the Crawford County Mentoring Program to launch a new school-based mentoring pilot for our 6th grade students at Bucyrus Middle School - and we’re looking for caring adults in our community to become mentors.

Mentors will meet with students one hour each week during lunchtime at BMS. The Crawford County Mentoring Program will facilitate activities designed to help students build confidence, develop positive relationships, explore their interests and connect with caring adults who believe in their potential.

❤️ The commitment is simple:
• 1 hour per week during lunch
• School-based at Bucyrus Middle School
• Participate in 2 hours of mentor training
• Provide three references
• Complete a background check
• Have a valid driver’s license

You don’t have to have all the answers. You just have to be willing to show up, listen and be someone a student can count on.

We are recruiting mentors before matching students, so now is the time to get involved!

❤️🖤 Meet Ms. Amy Holloway! 🖤❤️

We’re excited to introduce Ms. Holloway, our HUB Coordinator! She is entering her seventh year as a school advocate and coordinator, bringing a passion for connecting students and families with the resources they need to thrive.

What she loves most about her work is the opportunity to partner with the community to bridge the gap between need and opportunity. Helping families feel supported and making sure students have the tools they need to succeed is what inspires her every day. ❤️

Outside of school, Ms. Holloway loves being outdoors! She enjoys nature photography, especially bird photography, fishing, raising butterflies and planting native plants. 🦋📸🌿

We’re grateful for the connections Ms. Holloway builds throughout our community and the difference those connections make for Bucyrus students and families!

🎶❤️ Meet Mr. Liam Bacon! 🖤

We’re excited to welcome Mr. Bacon into his first year as the Director of Bands at Bucyrus City Schools! His favorite part of the job is giving students an avenue to discover and enjoy their love of music. 🎺🎵

Mr. Bacon also loves the Arts Festival, appreciating the opportunity it gives all of our arts programs to come together and celebrate creativity and talent throughout Bucyrus.

And now for the fun fact: Mr. Bacon can wiggle his ears! 👂😄

If he could swap jobs for a day, he’d choose Mrs. Dunfee’s role because it’s the closest to his own discipline - and he enjoys using solfège!
