Today we celebrate our nation’s independence and the strength of our community.

From all of us at Bucks County CIT, we wish you a joyful Fourth of July filled with family, friends, and safe celebrations. As you enjoy the holiday, we encourage everyone to look out for one another, celebrate responsibly, and take a moment to appreciate the freedoms we share.

We’d also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS professionals, dispatchers, healthcare workers, crisis responders, and all those serving our communities today. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to keeping Bucks County safe.

Congratulations to the graduates of the 32nd Bucks County CIT Class!🎓

Last week, we celebrated another outstanding group of law enforcement officers, first responders, and community partners who successfully completed Spring 2026 Bucks County Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training.

Throughout the week, participants engaged in meaningful discussions, learned practical de-escalation strategies, heard directly from individuals with lived experience, and strengthened partnerships that help create safer outcomes for everyone in our community.

Thank you to our instructors, presenters, community partners, and newest CIT graduates for your commitment to compassionate, informed crisis response.

Congratulations to Officer Gabe Fisher and Officer Gianna Zanino on completing the 40 hour Crisis Intervention Training. CIT is an innovative model of police-based crisis intervention with community behavioral health, law enforcement, and advocacy partnerships. These partnerships help officers guide people to treatment and resources, to hopefully achieve the best possible outcome.

Congratulations to Officer Fabrizio “Fab” Catoni of the Lower Makefield Township Police Department — our 2025 Charles A. Bechtel CIT Officer of the Year!

This award honors the legacy of Charles Bechtel, a founding member of the Bucks County CIT Task Force and longtime NAMI Bucks County PA partner who championed compassionate crisis response.

Officer Catoni was nominated for his consistent commitment to mental-health awareness and his CIT-informed approach in every interaction. He truly shows that CIT works and makes a real difference in our communities.

Thank you to Lower Makefield Township Police, the Bucks County Chiefs of Police Association, the Bucks County Police Training Center, and NAMI Bucks County PA for their ongoing support and partnership.

We are profoundly grateful to Emily Chau Gray for coming back a third time to share her lived experience and Brian’s story with our Bucks CIT class. Her ongoing willingness to speak about the tragedy of su***de reminds us why this work matters and how vital lived experience is in guiding empathy, connection, and prevention.

Melissa A. Robison is an Army veteran, Middletown Township Police Officer, and passionate community advocate. After joining the department in 2015, she re-launched the Community Policing Unit and now leads the Youth Aid Panel and key events like National Night Out and Shop with a Cop. She moderates the PTSD panel for Bucks CIT and serves as a negotiator with the South-Central Emergency Response Team. As VP of the Middletown Community Foundation, she helps raise and give back hundreds of thousands of dollars to local families. She also created food pantries and clothing closets in every Neshaminy school to support kids in need. Melissa brings service, heart, and leadership to everything she does.
