I usually give my mom a hard time for being a “pack rat.” But it’s pretty special to be able to help her repurpose my grandmother’s—my namesake’s—old curtains to make masks for our neighbors and local nurses. ⁣

At 2 and 4, my kids had their first go at fishing today. They pretty quickly got tired and sat down. Walking away decidedly empty handed, they learned about patience and delayed gratification and the peacefulness of just being on the water. They learned that when you go fishing, you come home fishless far more often than not. ⁣
⁣
What has this period of social distancing given you time to reflect on? It could make great fodder for a personal statement!
