Congratulations to Buckhorn's Senior Class of 2024! This class indeed holds a special place in my heart. This was my second 8th grade class - my first after returning to Buckhorn as a "high school" teacher & boy did they keep me on my toes that year! That year I taught one of my nieces for the first time EVER in class & I became Miss Dixon instead of Val Val 😂 the fact I was her aunt did not alter her attitude or deter her from getting into fist fights 🤦🏼♀️ that year my groups of girls couldn’t have been more different 😬one of those groups was often in their own world & I got to view that world in the doodles they left EVERYWHERE & their talent left me speechless 🤯 Then there was my boys....the boys put me through the wringer!! 🙄 They were the bane of my existence & they NEVER stopped!! You name it & they probably did it that year 😡 from throwing things out the bus windows to asking guests very inappropriate questions & yet I loved them SO very much! I don't teach freshmen (YET!) but they returned as Sophomores to my classroom & although they had matured they were still a handful BUT they were mine! My board and tables were never devoid of artwork, poor Ben tried to sleep ever morning on the couch beside my desk & I resorted to bursting packing bubbles as an alarm & those boys - shew!! 🤦🏼♀️😬😵💫 Junior year the poor things had to deal with me as a pregnant grouch & still loved me anyways 😂🥰 they moved tables and heavy boxes cause we all know I move my room around way too much! I could go on & on BUT i won't...I will end by saying I am SO very proud of each and every one of you. I will miss you & I will never forget you. I CANNOT wait to see what this life hold for you and to watch you forge your own paths in this world! Congratulations! I love you, darlings!
❤ Miss Dixon
