Another Strawberry Festival in the books for our Blue and White Marching Band! Thank you all for supporting us along the route.

We have one more Strawberry Festival performance with the B-UHS Jazz Band tomorrow afternoon at 1pm in front of the courthouse.

Join us tomorrow evening for the B-UHS Concert Band Spring Concert!

Our students have been working hard to prepare a diverse and exciting program featuring selections ranging from traditional wind band literature to contemporary works and audience favorites. You’ll also hear special performances from our percussion ensemble as part of the evening.

We hope you’ll come out and support these musicians as they share the results of their hard work this semester. It’s going to be a great night of music!

It’s a great weekend for live music! West Virginia Wesleyan College is hosting their annual Jazz Festival right here in Buckhannon, WV.

B-UHS has six students participating in the high school Jazz honor band. Congratulations to Micah Batchelor, Roman Cuppari, Sylas Knight, Ethan Manspeaker, Gabby Mullens, and Ethan Varvaro! Be sure to come out to support them tomorrow, Sunday evening, at 7pm at the WVWC Performing Arts Center.

Tonight is also a great opportunity to catch some top tier, and FREE, music. The WVWC Alumni Big Band is playing at the Wesleyan Dining Hall at 7pm. Come out and hear some great music!

🥁✨ B-UHS Drumline & Majorette Clinics and Auditions ✨🥁

The Buckhannon-Upshur High School Marching Band will be holding Drumline and Majorette Clinics & Auditions for the 2026 Marching Season!

These clinics are a great opportunity for students to learn the fundamentals, meet the staff, and prepare for auditions.

Clinic Dates: March 23–26 (Monday–Thursday)
Time: 4:00–5:30 PM
Location: Buckhannon-Upshur High School

Auditions: Friday, March 27 at 4:00 PM

Who can participate?
Students who will be in grades 9–12 during the 2026–2027 school year.

Students must be enrolled in a B-UHS Band or Percussion Ensemble (mandatory for all percussionists) class in order to participate in Drumline or Majorettes.

Thanks to a grant from the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund, the Buckhannon-Upshur High School Marching Band has been able to upgrade the brass section of the marching band with two new Sousaphones. These new additions to the band, bring new life to the ageing sousaphone section. Go Band!

This past weekend, several members of the B-UHS Band had the opportunity to participate in the Marshall University High School Honor Band.

These students spent several days rehearsing and performing alongside outstanding musicians from across the region under the direction of outstanding guest conductors and the Marshall University music faculty. We are very proud of the hard work and musicianship they demonstrated throughout the event.

Congratulations to Estrid Garver-Daniels, Ethan Manspeaker, Parker McCann, Chris Powers, and Scotty Woody for representing B-UHS so well!

High School Honor Band Festival (Night 3) All High School Honor Bands....

Good Morning B-U Band Families and Friends!

After evaluating the weather and speaking with school administration, we’ve decided not to participate in today’s parade or ceremony. The wind chill is simply too cold to be outside safely for that length of time, and the conditions also put our instruments at risk.

Instead, we’ll record a special performance that we can share later this week as a way to honor our Veterans safely and proudly.
