"A little dirt won't hurt" may be truer than we think. In fact, being outside, exposed to the elements and various microbes, is likely necessary for a healthy quality of life.
To celebrate the dirt, we're hosting our first Garden Social, where you can meet others who also believe gardening is more than just growing plants 🌱

Gardening is a way for people to be self-sufficient and help cultivate a sense of community. Families, neighbors, and individuals often share knowledge and produce grown at home. Before modern entertainment, gardening was an everyday leisure activity and even a spiritual practice that helped people connect with nature.
Humans have been cultivating plants for food and medicine for thousands of years. This practice has provided emotional and spiritual nourishment and helped families bond as a community. So, we invite you and the whole family to our first Garden Social.

Discover the fascinating origins of Bierock, a yeast roll filled with a savory mixture of beef, cabbage, and onions. This culinary gem has a rich heritage, originating in Russia, where it was known as a pirogi. It then made its way to the German settlers along the banks of the Volga River, who transformed it into the beloved Bierock we know today. In the 1870s, German Mennonite immigrants brought this cherished tradition to the American Great Plains, where it has continued to capture the hearts and appetites of many.
During this class, you'll have the opportunity to delve into the historical roots of Bierock while also getting hands-on experience crafting these delectable pastries. From preparing the yeast dough to mastering the art of filling and shaping the pockets, you'll gain insights into the traditional techniques and flavors that make Bierock a beloved culinary classic.
Join us as we celebrate Bierock's cultural significance and delicious tastes in a class that promises to be educational and flavorsome.

We wish everyone joy and warmth through the winter season. The holidays to us is giving and appreciating what is already there: family, friends, and our health.
In the spirit of giving, we've restocked our items Dough Re Mi with everything being "pay what you can". Items include our small batch tea blends, salves, and jam.
In any time of the year, remember your presence is the greatest present to give.
Happy Holidays,

Children and adults experienced the joy of baking together in Betty's Sweet and Savory Scone class.
Our philosophy as parents is to learn and grow together. No parent is perfect, and that is okay. Both children and adults have the total capacity to reach their full potential. Through meeting new challenges and gaining new skills, we grow as individuals and a community and, as a result, grow as parents. Our vision is to live in a world where adults can begin to heal themselves and start building the most fertile soil for our children and future generations.

In this 3-hour class, students will complete two cobweb brooms. These brooms were historically used in Appalachia for reaching tall rafters and tight spaces of log cabins. They are functional for dusting but also serve as decorative pieces. Class size is limited to allow for one-on-one guidance.

Dustin Cecil often harvests materials onsite around his homestead, like poplar and bamboo for handles and broom corn for broom heads. Expanding his traditional knowledge of broom making, he's done collaborations with blacksmiths using metal handles. Recently, Dustin has also crafted set pieces for the television series, 𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘦𝘳: 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦.
