In the heart of downtown Buchanan is the Pears Mill. It was built in 1857 and is the last of thirteen mills that were built on the McCoy Creek. It was slated for demolition in 1983 after the co-op that used the building moved out. A group of citizens saved and restored the historic mill and it is open to visitors on Saturdays in the summer months. My thought was it seemed strange to build a mill next to downtown but, then I realized the mill was built before most of the town.

Senior Picnic: Michigan Lighthouses
Friday, August 7, 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Doors open at 11:30 am and event begins at 12:00 pm.
Space is limited and you must be 60+ years old to attend.
You must have a ticket to enter the event.
If you have a ticket and are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible,
as we anticipate a waiting list.
We will be serving an amazing feast for you!

• Registration begins Monday, July 6
• Ticket pick up begins Monday, July 20
• Last day to register is Wednesday, July 29
• All tickets MUST be picked up by Monday, August 3
• PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept any late registration requests (after Wednesday, July 29) as we need an accurate food count before the event.
