SCHS dual enrolled auto students recently visited SCC in Sylva to train on state of the art Hunter Alignment equipment and also learn about welding and HVAC programs of study. Then they toured Andy Shaw Ford to learn about the wide range of careers available in the automotive industry.

Students from Swain's Automotive Program travelled to Southwestern Community College to train and practice on Hunter Alignment and Tire Equipment.

The Swain County FFA Greenhouse is officially opening for business on April 13th. We will be open from 8 am to 3 pm. We will have both Greenhouses on campus open for business this year. All proceeds go toward supporting your local Swain County High School FFA Chapter to support our program. We will be accepting cash as well as credit or debit cards; however, we will not accept Apple Pay, Cash App, etc. Prices include: 6/4 packs- $3 each or $24 a flat (mix and match) 6” Pots- $8 Each 4”Pots $5 Each 13” Combo Pots- $25 All Herb Baskets- $20 Hanging Baskets- $16 Stay tuned for updates. Congratulations to Ms. Becca Wiggins for being selected as the 2026 CTE Teacher of the Year for Swain County. Ms. Wiggins teaches the Adobe Academy classes at Swain County High School.

HOSA Future Health Professionals 50th State Leadership Conference concluded with the Grand Awards Ceremony on Friday evening. We celebrate Laura Araiza for placing 8th in Respiratory Therapy and are proud of all our students who competed in the LARGEST ever state conference (nearly 4500 students).
In addition to competition, students met with representatives from colleges and employers from across the state and attended educational seminars on a variety of topics (examples: The Reality of the Emergency Department, WCU's Rec Therapy program, Wake Forest's Regenerative Medicine program and NCSBI staff to name a few).
Thank you to our students who participated, their families and our Administration for their support of HOSA Future Health Professionals!!
