This past week, Head of School Rabbi Marshall Lesack ’97 spent several meaningful days connecting with our 11th grade students during their trimester at Alexander Muss High School in Israel and with our Akiba/Barrack alumni living in Israel.
From joining students at Yad Vashem to hearing about their travels, learning, and everyday life in Israel, it was powerful to witness firsthand the transformative experience they are having together—and the ways they are deepening their connections to Israel, the Jewish people, and one another.
For the first time in three years, we had the honor of hosting an Akiba/Barrack alumni gathering on the Muss campus, bringing together alumni from the classes of 1965 through 2026, our current students, and our partners at Muss. Across generations, they shared reflections on what it means to live and learn in Israel.
We are so grateful to offer our students the opportunity to experience Israel firsthand—and we look forward to the energy, perspective, and pride they will bring back to Barrack later this fall.
