Repair doesn’t always wait until the conflict is over.
Sometimes, repair begins in the very moment of rupture.
It begins when we slow down instead of pulling away.
When we name what’s happening instead of pretending it’s not.
When we stay curious rather than certain.
When two people remain in contact, even while feeling hurt, misunderstood, or disconnected.
In Gestalt therapy, rupture isn’t a sign that the relationship has failed. It can become the place where trust is rebuilt, awareness deepens, and something new emerges.
Healing isn’t the absence of rupture.
It’s discovering that authentic contact can survive it.

When rupture arises in the therapeutic relationship, the goal isn’t perfection, its presence.
Repair begins when we stay. When we notice. When we’re willing to meet the moment with curiosity instead of certainty.
Healing doesn’t happen because we never miss each other. It happens because we’re willing to find our way back.
In Gestalt therapy, presence is more than a technique, it’s the ground from which awareness, contact, and repair become possible.

Past experiences shape what we see.
In Gestalt, perception isn’t just about what’s in front of us, it’s also about what we bring with us. Our memories, culture, relationships, and lived experiences influence how we interpret the world.
The same image can tell a different story to every person. That’s the beauty of awareness: when we recognize our lens, we create space for new possibilities.
✨ What do your past experiences help you see & what might they be keeping you from seeing?
