Latina/o Alumnae of Bryn Mawr College

Hello from DC! Joanna Pinto Coelho '09 here, hoping you're all having a summer that's as amazing as you are. I'm dropping in to ask that you wander over to the Of Color at Bryn Mawr College page and click "like." We're joining forces with Black Alum Bmc and other Bryn Mawr alum groups of color in order to maximize our awesomeness, fun, and power (for good, obviously -- for ourselves, each other, current students, as well as faculty and staff), and that page will be our organizing hub. We're still in the early stages, so we don't have much news to break, but hopefully we will in the next month or so. We'll keep you posted, and, as always, let us know if you'd like to be involved!

Mawrtyrs don't just get together in a tent for cocktails during reunion. They talk together, and they think together, and then they WORK TOGETHER. This year is no exception. Lots of wonderful stuff is forthcoming, so stay tuned on instagram and twitter () and on facebook.

Our women of color gathering was so productive and thoughtful and heartening this afternoon. I'm still in the library with three amazing women talking about what needs to happen next.

Come hang out with other alums of color in the Enid Cook Center library tomorrow (Saturday 28 May) from 11am-12:30pm. The planks in the floor are from the original Perry House!!!

We are sharing our reunion hospitality suite in the Enid Cook Center library with all the other amazing Mawrtyrs of color. It's almost ready! Kierstin Gray of the Black alumnae made this happy sign and stocked us up, and Marina and I are adding some more stuff and moving things around now. We are very tired so mostly we're cursing. Please stop by this weekend!!!
