Even as we recalled those who were tragically killed this past week in Israel, we came together for a special community-building and educational Lag Ba'Omer family event yesterday.

Our students and their siblings enjoyed training for Rabbi Akiva's army by honing their (child-friendly) bow-and-arrow marksmanship, competing in the Rabbi Akiva-Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai competition, singing Israeli Lag Ba'Omer songs with Morah Galit, and of course a enjoying a bonfire featuring hot dogs and s'mores.

Thanks to everyone who helped out and participated, to Matt and Dr. Asya Sigelman and family for hosting, and we can't wait to come together for many more safe, educational and enjoyable community events in the future!

One Gur Aryeh student pulled out all the stops for Purim, dressing as the "Tana K**a," the anonymous rabbinic author who appears repeatedly throughout the Mishnah, a central work of rabbinic literature our oldest Judaic Studies students are studying this year. Check out the perfect costume: a cross between a rabbi and an anonymous spy. Ingenious!

Spotted this morning - Haman, Mordechai, and Vashti at a secret planning meeting at an unidentified location. What’s more, ketchup was served at the planning meeting. Quite perplexing... 🧐🤷‍♂️
